The Detective Division is broken down into three
categorizes.

Gangs: Responsible for addressing crimes
associated with gang activity and is devoted to aggressively
prosecuting those crimes.

Narcotics: Responsible for addressing
crimes associated with illegal drugs and is devoted to aggressively
prosecuting those crimes.

Criminal Investigations: Responsible for
investigating crimes of a serious nature. E.g. murder,
robbery, rape, burglary, forgery, arson, etc
Detectives
receive specialized training in investigations, crime scene photography and
management, and interview and interrogation skills.
They have the resources to
create computer generated photographic line-ups and computer generated composite
sketches.
